During
her travels in the Far East and the Hawaiian Islands, Cynthia
began collecting stones, gems and hand-etched sterling silver
beads she would find in off-beat shops, galleries and
villages. These treasures she used to create her own necklaces
and bracelets.
Continuing
her quest for the one-of-a-kind bead for her own jewelry, she
began supporting tribes in Thailand and Tibet where the
artists are paid union wages and protected from the slave
labor that haunts this industry.
After ongoing raves from friends and strangers about her own jewelry
designs, Cynthia developed her own Collection of original
jewelry pieces, and began sharing her unique 'finds' in the US and abroad to friends and
collectors
Her inspiration stems from exposure to fashion as a model in her
20’s. She also
applies her artistic awareness and knowledge from ongoing art
and design classes over the years at the Glassell School of
Art at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas. She
feels this keeps her style original and fresh.
